Beware of those Velux roof windows.
They only last ten to twenty years.
I have nineteen of them leaking.
Glass to frame seal dries out.

The truth. Who knew a 2'x4' hole in your roof would cause water problems?

Harsh but true; not to say that you should never do it but any professional who deals with them will tell you that all skylights and roof windows will eventually leak.
OP is lucky that it's a seal that's designed to be replaced that's leaking, lots of them leak from day one from poorly designed curbs, bad flashing, etc. thats a major PITA to correct.
Also a flexible seal that has a 20 year service life in the most weather and sun exposed location on a structure and gets no attention until it leaks is pretty impressive.
Suck it up and replace the seals, Mr. House With Nineteen Roof Windows.

Nodoby installs them things anymore.
Easy fix…usually the idiots that installed them didn’t use screws, they drove a nail half way then bent it over

I have one in my bathroom about twice the area of this. Hasn't leaked in 30 years. They don't open though, maybe that's part of the reason.

Taking the flashing off does not expose the sealant between the glass and metal on Velux FS (1999 - 2003) roof windows.

No they don't, at worst you replace the sash but some of them you just replace the gasket or the sash outer cover it attaches to.

Just because something might be out of warranty doesn't = "the company says to tear it out", are you retarded?

OP just needs to look up the glass replacement for his units and go through the process, just without buying new IG panels if they're still ok.

That shit will stick damn near anything to anything else. Good stuff. Thick as all hell coming out of the tube so make sure the tube is warm before trying to squeeze any out. Also if you need to tool it any i have found some xylene is the best thing to use. Spray some on your bead and you can slick it over with your finger. Otherwise it will just stick and make a huge mess.

it has very little flexibility when cured and should never be used as a building material for sealing joints
